Lawrence Newman had a distinguished career as a teacher, winning California Teacher of the Year honors, and is also a past president of the National Association of the Deaf. His writings and poems were gathered together as a book called I Fill This Small Space, recently published by Gallaudet University Press, and available at http://www.clercscar.com/books
